Stacy Romero, LPCC
Chief Executive Officer
Stacy has been providing mental health services to this area since 1993. She received her Masters degree from Highlands University in 1997 and has since held positions as a Therapist, Treatment Coordinator, Program Supervisor and Clinical Director. Stacy specializes in providing trauma informed care and attachment based services.
Breena Tafoya, LCSW
Chief Operations Officer / Chief Financial Officer
Breena has worked in the behavioral health field for over 35 years. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and has provided services as a Play Therapist, Clinical Director and Program Supervisor in several areas of the State. Breena specializes in developing new programs to better serve the community.
Dr. Douglas Emch, MD
Child Psychiatrist
Dr. Emch received his MD from Vanderbilt University in 1999. He then pursued further training focused on holistic medicine and continues to stay on the forefront when working with his patients. Dr. Emch specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry striving to provide excellent care though telemedicine in underserved areas of rural New Mexico
Allison Frazier, LPCC
Clinical Director
Allison is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with diverse populations in a variety of settings. Earlier in her career, Allison provided mental health services out of state for over 10 years, where she supported individuals facing complex mental health and life challenges. She specializes in areas such as identity development and relationship issues and uses a person-centered, solution-focused approach to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Allison is committed to fostering a safe and compassionate environment for clients and supporting the clinical team in providing high-quality care to children, youth and families.
Rebecca Mathews-Geng, LPCC
Clinical Supervisor
Rebecca has been in the helping field since 2008. She received her Master's Degree in 2013 and has been providing therapy to children and their families since. Rebecca specializes in telehealth therapy and is now able to share her expertise with others.
Francine Cruz, MSW
Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) Program Director
Francine has been providing services to the surrounding community of Las Vegas since 1999 as Direct Care Staff, Case Manager and CCSS Program Director. Francine graduated from Highlands University with her Masters in Social Work in 2008 and specializes in trauma informed and attachment based skill building services.

Family Support Services Program Director
Teresa has been helping youth and families in the area for over 30 years. She has an extensive background in juvenile justice and domestic violence. Teresa graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with her Bachelors in Social Work.

Mario brings over a decade of experience working in the mental health field. He earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and has been part of the Kids Counseling team for nearly seven years. Mario is passionate about helping young people and their families build resilience and strengthen their connections with their natural supports and communities. He is dedicated to creating a supportive and welcoming environment where children and families feel heard, valued and empowered.
